At one time a stagecoach stop, tavern and inn, even a hospital in the Civil War, Pope's Tavern is one of the oldest structures in Florence. Located just south of the University of North Alabama, the tavern is near downtown Florence, the Kennedy-Douglass Arts Center and Wilson Park. The museum contains memorabilia and antiques from the 18th and 19th centuries relating to the local area, along with persons in period dress to answer questions.
